Virus had an amazing day at Dirty Dozen on Saturday taking multiple podium places.
V-Team athletes Connor McGourt and Ryan Bennett went head to head in the 12k race.
Everyone was excited to see who would come out on top between the team members. The pair battled the whole way around but Connor came out on top, finishing in 2nd position, a few minutes behind the rapid Ross Brackley. Ryan came in 3rd just behind his team mate.
Muddy Kit’s Virus sponsored athlete Tristan Steed came home in 4th not far behind Ryan to top the race off too.
We also had great results in the 6k race with Adam Turner (director of Virus Performance UK) finishing in 1st position just in front of Virus supported Adam Robinson and closely followed by another Virus supported athlete Jason Thiele. Hats off to Adam Robinson who did amazing to finish so high up after competing in the 12k race earlier in the day. Jason pushed Adam Turner all the way around the course with Adam Robinson right behind. Adam managed to pass Jason on the water section and almost caught Adam Turner up only finishing approximately 5 seconds behind!
To finish the weekend off Connor went to his local OCR Tartan Warrior and came away with the win! What an amazing weekend for Connor.
Connors girlfriend Nicola Callison who is also sponsored by Virus through Muddy Kit finished in 2nd position in the female race too.
Director of Virus Performance UK, Adam commented “What an awesome weekend. We had top results all weekend at two events. Connor did us proud getting 2nd at Dirty Dozen and then winning Tartan Warrior. He is a machine. I even managed to take a little win for Virus in the 6k race at Dirty Dozen so that’s a bonus! Well done everyone. I am proud to be supporting all of you. You all put 100% in every time you go out and I can’t ask for any more than that. I would like to say thanks to Doug from Dirty Dozen for putting on such an amazing event and I hope everyone loved the Slack Line obstacle that Virus sponsored for 2016!”
